Paleo Pumpkin Hot Chocolate recipe. Homemade hot chocolate, made without sugar or dairy, and full of pumpkin puree and cinnamon is perfect for Fall.

Homemade hot chocolate, made without sugar, dairy, or processed ingredients, is a great way to treat yourself. Especially when it’s cold outside.

And especially when it’s got a pumpkin hint to it. 🙂

I’ve always loved making homemade hot chocolate because it’s richer in taste and thicker in texture. Also, it’s just healthier.

I like knowing exactly what I’m putting into my body and making hot chocolate myself ensures that there are only clean ingredients inside.

For this Paleo Pumpkin Hot Chocolate, I used almond milk, coconut cream, cocoa powder, pumpkin puree, honey, and pumpkin spice spices (cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg).

After much experimentation, I have found that using a majority of almond milk with a bit of coconut cream is my favorite combination for dairy-free hot chocolate, but feel free to try using other types of milks or combinations.

I also prefer using unsweetened cocoa powder and adding a hint of honey to enhance the sweetness.

Cocoa and honey amounts can be adjusted as well.

For this recipe, I added pumpkin puree, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg to give this hot chocolate a pumpkiny boost.

I always think its weird when pumpkin recipes don’t actually have pumpkin in them, and since this is a pumpkin recipe, there is definitely pumpkin in here. 🙂

However, I didn’t use too much… so the pumpkin flavor isn’t overwhelming, but you can always add more to yours if you’d like.

Lastly, I mixed all the ingredients in a large pot, and heated it on the stove. But this can also be done in the microwave. It’s all pretty easy.

Heating it on the stove, just makes it easier for me to whisk the hot chocolate and to season it how I like. 🙂

I found Dandies Vegan all natural marshmallows at the store and added them to my hot chocolate. Which was delightful.
