My most recent smoothie obsession involves wild blueberries. Aside from the fact that wild blueberries taste incredible, I feel SO good every time that I eat them. My body can not get enough of the nutrients.

Because of that, I have been making this Wild Blueberry, Spirulina, and Barley Grass Smoothie twice a week.

Both spirulina and barley grass powder are major antioxidant and nutrient powerhouses. Good thing this smoothie is both husband and toddler approved!

After my 1 year old got her one year immunizations my sister said I should do a heavy metal detox smoothie to help her body process out the heavy metals from the injections.

Say what? I had never heard of this but I figured it can’t hurt.

So I looked up the recipe she recommended. It is called the medical medium heavy metal detox smoothie.

I made that smoothie and have since tweaked it to just make a regular delicious smoothie that I like. Does it still remove heavy metals? Probably, but not as hardcore as the other one.

I just love this Wild Blueberry, Spirulina, and Barley Grass Smoothie because it makes me feel AMAZING and my daughter loves it too.

Ingredients in this Wild Blueberry, Spirulina, and Barley Grass Smoothie

  • frozen wild blueberries
  • frozen mango
  • oranges
  • barley grass powder
  • spirulina powder
  • unsweetened almond milk

Note: Make sure to use wild blueberries! There are no pesticides and the flavor blows away that of regular blueberries. I buy mine from Trader Joes, but I have seen them at Publix as well.

Also make sure to buy reputable barley grass powder and spirulina powder.

I bought this barley grass powder from Natural Elements and this spirulina powder from Nuts.com and love them. You can really tell that they are both high quality.
