These Healthy Homemade Strawberry Daiquiris remind me of summer vacation. A fruity drink that you can drink by the pool or enjoy outside. YUM.

I’m really all about these healthy strawberry daiquiris because they are chilled and fruity healthy rum cocktails that taste amazing and that cool you off on a hot day.

They quite honestly taste like a sweet yet sour strawberry slushy (with a kick). And the best part is that they are made of simple real-food ingredients. Healthier homemade clean strawberry daiquiris cocktails? Yes please!

I’ve been really loving making healthy rum cocktails and healthier cocktails in general lately.

It’s nice knowing exactly what I’m drinking and putting into my body. And it’s also really nice how much more delicious the drinks turn out to be!

I don’t know if it’s just me, but all those pre-made mixes taste so “off” and chemically to me. The best drinks that I’ve had have been homemade, and I LOVE when bars/ restaurants make drinks with all natural ingredients.

However, making it at home is always my favorite and most cost effective option so I’ve been experimenting a lot in the kitchen. (lucky me and lucky husband haha)

Ingredients needed to make these Healthy Homemade Strawberry Daiquiris:

  • frozen strawberries
  • lime juice
  • lemon juice
  • white rum
  • homemade honey syrup

How to make homemade honey syrup:

You can make a “honey syrup” by mixing hot water into honey and letting the honey melt into the water.

I find honey syrup to be a wonderful replacement to the sweet syrups that are used to make drinks in general.

What’s great about the honey syrup is that you can add a light honey sweetness to the drink, without having the honey freeze up and clump in the cold liquid.

Honey syrup alternatives:

Maple syrup!

Maple syrup is my favorite honey syrup replacement. You don’t need to melt it into hot water, it just blends into whatever liquid you want it to go into.

It isn’t as sweet as honey syrup though and sometimes can result in a maple flavor (which isn’t bad), just FYI.

Tips for making these all natural Strawberry Daiquiris:

(1) Adjust the sweetness to your taste.

  • Start off with making honey syrup with 3 Tbs of honey. Taste it and if you want it more sweet, make more honey syrup, adding another Tbs of honey at a time to your daiquiris.

(2) Use a high quality white rum that you like

  • The quality of the rum does make a difference to the taste and how you feel when you drink this healthy rum cocktail

The taste of strawberries dominate in this drink, and then there is a sour kick from the lime and lemon juice. So good!

I made these a few times and my husband and I have been enjoying them by the pool, even though they melt very quickly in the Florida heat.

I guess we just have to drink them a little more quickly 🙂 Cheers!
