I love a summer cocktail, especially when it is very hot outside. My favorites are this Paloma Cocktail with Honey Syrup, these Homemade Strawberry Daiquiris, and this passion fruit gin cocktail.

I got the idea for this drink at a recent trip to Animal Kingdom. I went to the Nomad Lounge, which is a hidden oasis, and tried the Annapurna Zing cocktail. It was just delicious with passionfruit, ginger beer and mint flavors. So, I decided to make my own version at home.

What makes this recipe great

  • It is vibrant and refreshing. The passion fruit and citrus combo makes it both sweet and tart.
  • It is easy to make! It comes together in minutes.
  • It is great for summer, or for when you are in the mood for something tropical. There’s nothing quite like passion fruit to add a summery twist to a drink.
  • It’s great for entertaining. I had an event at my home recently and made a pitcher of these and they were a crowd pleaser.

Recipe ingredients

Ingredients needed to make this passion fruit gin cocktail.
  • Gin– I love Nolet’s gin. Make sure to use your favorite tasting gin here.
  • Passion fruit juiceCeres passion fruit juice is my favorite, and I can easily find it at grocery stores where I live.
  • Lime juice or lemon juice– I have used both interchangeably for this drink and both work well.
  • Maple syrup or simple syrup– I prefer using maple syrup here, but feel free to use simple syrup if you like that better.
  • Mint leaves– fresh mint leaves add great refreshing flavor to this cocktail.
  • Ginger beer– make sure you like the taste of your ginger beer. Some are more spicy than others.

Expert tips

  • You can easily double, triple or quadruple the recipe based on how many cocktails you are making.
  • You can make this drink as is and enjoy it. Or you can garnish it with mint, some passion fruit pulp, or even half a passion fruit. I like the pulp because it adds flavor and crunch but my husband hates the texture.
  • The recipe says to use 2 or 3 ounces ginger beer, depending on how much ginger beer flavor want.
