This apple cider whiskey cocktail is a delicious apple cider based alcohol drink that has Prosecco and whiskey inside. It is seasoned with cinnamon, apple slices and orange slices and makes for a wonderful Fall or Winter cocktail.

I have been drinking this spiked apple cider cocktail for years now. I make it every Thanksgiving and Christmas and it is always a huge hit.

Ingredients needed to make spiked a apple cider cocktail.
  • Apple cider- make sure to use a good quality apple cider made with only apple juice. My personal favorite is the Honeycrisp Apple Cider from Trader Joes.
  • Prosecco– you can also use champagne.
  • Whiskey / Whisky– use your favorite brand of whiskey for this drink.
  • Ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg– this adds great flavor to this drink.
  • Apple Slices– these add flavor and decor to the drink.
  • Orange Slices– these also add flavor and decor to the drink.

Additions/ Substitutions

  • You can add fresh cranberries or pomegranate seeds to your drink to a pop of festive color.
  • You can use pumpkin spice instead of cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Instead of whiskey, you can use scotch.

Step by step instructions

Step 1:

Step 1: Mix a little bit of apple cider with the nutmeg and cinnamon. Whisk it so it is mixed in.

Then add the rest of the apple cider, the Prosecco, and the whiskey to the pitcher.

Step 2: Add the sliced apples and sliced oranges to the container.

Refrigerate for several hours.

Equipment

  • a 2 Quart Glass Pitcher

Ingredients 

  • 3 cups apple cider
  • 3 cups prosecco
  • 1 cup whiskey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • a pinch nutmeg
  • sliced apples
  • sliced oranges
  • pomegranate seeds or fresh cranberries

Instructions 

  • Add a little bit of the apple cider to your glass pitcher or punch bowl and whisk the cinnamon and nutmeg into it. Then add the remaining apple cider to the pitcher. Add the Prosecco and whiskey to the pitcher. Mix with a large spoon. Then add the sliced apples and oranges to the pitcher or punch bowl. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours before serving.
  • Serve the cocktail in cups. Add cranberries or pomegranate seeds to each cup, along with some slices of apples and oranges.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
