Making my own juice at home has been one of my favorite things to do for years now. I love the feeling that you get after drinking all of those fresh vitamins. My body seriously craves it!

And I particularly love this Healthy Green Lemonade recipe. It’s sweet yet tart, full of antioxidants, and  really does taste like lemonade!

I can not think of a healthier lemonade option than this one! 

It’s sweetened by apples and it is tart and lemony thanks to the lemons. And it’s full of kale!

It’s such a great option to make when a lemonade craving hits.

Ingredients needed to make this juice:

  • kale
  • apple
  • cucumber
  • lemon

4 ingredients! That is it! 

This juice is great because you can alter the sweetness or tartness of it by adding or subtracting apples or lemons.

And the cucumber adds a nice relaxing and thirst quenching element to it. Perfect for a sunny day!

Health Benefits to this juice

Kale is filled with antioxidants. It also is a great source of vitamin K, A, D, C and manganese. It’s a good source of calcium, magnesium and potassium too.  

Apples help lower cholesterol and are also a good source of antioxidants. The juice from an apple is said to protect your cells from inflammation and oxidative damage.

Cucumbers may be low in calories but they are a good source of Vitamin K and C, along with  magnesium, potassium and manganese. They are also great for hydration!

Lemons are high in vitamin C and antioxidants and help boost your immune system.

How to make it

All you really need to make this juice is the ingredients and a juicer! 

For me, the juicer I use is important because if it is too complicated or hard to clean, I won’t end up juicing at all.

This Waring Pro Juice Extractor has been great for me. I have used it for years and years and love how I can put all the pieces into my dishwasher. 

As for the ingredients, it is ideal to have organic fruits and veggies and to really wash your fruits and veggies beforehand.

I also leave some of the lemon rind on my lemons to make my juice more tart, but you can remove the whole peel if you prefer prior to juicing it.

Healthy Green Lemonade

Servings: 24 ounces
Prep Time: 10 minutes
A refreshing, vitamin-filled, hydrating juice fresh lemonade juice recipe that is made from kale, cucumber, lemon, and apples.

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch of Kale
  • 3 apples
  • 1 english cucumber
  • 1.5- 2 lemons

Instructions

  • Wash and dry all fruit and vegetables.
  • Cut the apples and cucumber into slices that fit into your juicer.
  • Remove some or most of the lemon peel while cutting your lemon (I like to leave a lot of it on for the bitter flavor).
  • Juice the fruits and vegetables using a juicer. Mix the liquid with a spoon before serving.
  • Makes 24 ounces of juice.
