Why this recipe works:
- Two words: bacon wrapped. Anything wrapped in bacon is delicious in my book.
- This recipe is made with a handful of simple real-food ingredients that comes together quickly.
- Chicken is a great source of protein.
- It is versatile and can be a meal, appetizer or snack.
- It is Paleo, Whole30, dairy-free and gluten-free.
Recipe ingredients:
- Bacon– ideally a brand without added sugar or nitrates.
- Chicken tenders– these are smaller in size. If you buy chicken breast, you can cut it yourself.
- Paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, chili flakes– these herbs and spices season the chicken here.

Recipe variations:
- Using smoked bacon instead of regular bacon
- Using turkey bacon
- Adding coconut sugar to the seasoning
- Adding maple syrup on top of the bacon prior to bacon
- Cutting the chicken into bite sized pieces prior to wrapping in bacon to make bite sized pieces.
Step by step instructions:
Step 1: Cut and season the chicken.
Step 2: Wrap the chicken tenders in bacon.
Step 3: Bake and broil until done.

Bacon Wrapped Chicken Tenders (Paleo, Gluten-Free, Keto)
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds chicken breast, cut into tenders
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- a pinch of chili flakes
- 8 strips of bacon, sliced in half longways
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix all of the seasoning/spices. Rub the seasoning on the chicken.
- Wrap each chicken tender with the strips of bacon (that have been sliced in half longways). I ended up using 1.5 pieces of bacon per chicken tender. Try to tuck the ends of the bacon under each chicken tender.
- Bake for 35 minutes, or until bacon is crispy. Broil for 1-2 minutes.
- Note: At the 20 minute mark, use a paper towel to absorb some of the bacon fat and throw it away.

That chicken was really good !
I took only 20 minutes for mine to be ready + 2 min. at Low Broil
Thanks !
Happy to hear it!
I throw in about a good rounded tablespoon of brown sugar with seasoning and then sprinkle some on top after i season the tops. I also put a strip of fresh seeded jalapeño before wrapping the bacon. Or you can slide it under bacon after you’ve wrapped the tenders. It is wonderful.
Great tips! Thanks 🙂
Omg. Heaven
Awesome. I had my doubts but they turned out perfect with the bacon cooked just right.
