I’ve been all about smoothies lately. They are an easy and delicious way to get lots of vitamins and minerals. And they make for a great breakfast or snack option! My Cherry Mango Carrot Smoothie with Greek Yogurt and Pumpkin Banana Smoothie are two of my favorites!

I’ve found that this avocado and strawberry smoothie hits the spot when I’m craving greens and needing vitamins and energy. Bonus points that it tastes like a creamy fresh fruity frozen dessert. NOM.

Recipe ingredients

Strawberry avocado smoothie ingredients needed.
  • Frozen banana– peel your banana and put it into a plastic bag before putting it in the freezer. Let it freeze over night if possible.
  • Frozen strawberries and frozen pineapple– both of these can be purchased at the grocery store.
  • Avocado– make sure your avocado is ripe for this recipe. It adds a nice creaminess.
  • Spinach– I like to use organic spinach here. You can use more or less based on your tastes.
  • Honey– this adds natural sweetness the smoothie. You can also use maple syrup.
  • Almond milk– this liquid is used as part of the base of the smoothie. You can use any kind of milk that works for you or that you have on hand.

Step by step instructions

To start, you need a frozen banana! Freeze your banana in advance.

Then, put all of the ingredients into a blender and mix!

I personally like thick smoothies so I only use one cup of almond milk, but if you want to thin out your smoothie, then you can add more almond milk to the blender.

Recipe FAQs

Is this smoothie Vegan?

No! But if you want to make it Vegan, use maple syrup instead of honey.

How much spinach should I add?

I like adding 3 cups, but I would start with 2 cups and taste your smoothie to see if you like the taste or would want more. The more spinach you add, the greener the smoothie will be.

How many servings is this smoothie?

I usually split this smoothie with my husband, so I was tempted to say this smoothie serves two, but if you want it as a meal, then I would say it can serve one.

What can be used to replace the banana in this recipe?

Use mango instead! I would say to use 1/2 cup – 1 cup of frozen mango. Mangos are sweet and add sweetness to smoothies in a similar way that bananas do.
