Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cloves garlic minced or crushed in a garlic press
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, add the ground chicken, 1/4 cup almond flour, onion powder, crushed garlic, egg, dried oregano, salt and pepper. Mix.
  • Put the other 1/4 cup of almond flour in a shallow dish.
  • Divide the chicken burger mixture into 4 parts and take each part and form into a burger pattie. Dunk both sides of each burger pattie into the almond flour, then put onto a plate.
  • Heat the oil in large frying pan over medium heat.
  • Put the chicken burger patties into the pan and cook for 5 minutes on one side side, then 3-4 minutes on the other side, until golden and cooked through. Cooking times will vary on how thick your chicken burgers are, what kind of pan you are using, and how your individual oven works. Chicken patties are considered cooked when they reach a minimum internal temperature of 165°F.

Notes

  • Instead of almond flour, you can use cashew flour, macadamia flour, oat flour or bread crumbs.
  • Instead of fresh garlic, you could use 1 teaspoon of garlic powder.
  • You could add chili flakes or chili powder to add spice to these burgers.
