Slow Cooker Apple Pulled Pork
A delicious pulled pork recipe seasoned with fresh diced apples, cinnamon, paprika and rubbed sage. It cooks in the slow cooker for several hours, really letting all the flavors melt into the meat.

Put the diced apples into the slow cooker. Top the diced apples with the mustard, honey, apple juice, apple cider vinegar and beef or chicken stock. Mix everything together.
Then, combine all of the spices together ( onion powder, garlic powder, cinnamon, paprika, rubbed sage, salt, black pepper). Rub the spice mixture on top of the pork.
Put the pork on top of the apples in the slow cooker.
Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 6 hours.
Remove the pork from the slow cooker, strain the apples, and keep the liquid.
Then, shred the pork in a large bowl, add the apples on top, and add a little bit of the liquid (enough to make the pulled pork moist). You can throw the rest of the liquid away. Mix the pulled pork, and apples together.
Note: if your pork is not shredding, it may need to cook longer. This happened to me and I cooked it in the slow cooker for an extra hour and then it shred perfectly.
- Instead of chicken stock, you can use beef stock.
- Instead of honey, you can use maple syrup.
