Cuisine: American
Servings: 2
- 1 Tbs honey
- 2 Tbs hot water
- 8 ounces fresh squeezed grapefruit juice (this was from 2 grapefruit for me)
- 4.5 ounces tequila 3 shots ( clear tequila is best)
- 1.5 ounces lime juice (1 shot)
- 2-4 ounces grapefruit sparkling water or plain sparkling water
To start, make the honey simple syrup. In a cup or small bowl, mix 1 Tbs of honey with 2 Tbs boiling hot water. Mix until the honey is melted. Set aside.
In a large shaker or a large bowl, mix the grapefruit juice, tequila, lime juice, and honey syrup together. Taste it. Add the sparkling water or grapefruit sparkling water to taste and mix again.
Note: this tastes great with fresh mint.
- It is better with a clear higher quality tequila. I like Don Julio.
- Instead of honey, you can use maple syrup.
- Instead of fresh grapefruit, you can buy grapefruit juice at the store.
- Instead of grapefruit sparking water, you can use any non-flavored sparkling water.
