Happy Monday! Today I’m sharing a classic juice recipe with a twist. This Kickin Carrot Orange Juice looks like your basic carrot orange juice, but it has a kick of cayenne pepper heat. Which means, it will definitely wake you up and get your metabolism moving.

Carrot Orange juice was one of the very first juices that I started drinking. It’s simple, yet delicious. Sweet, yet tart. It’s a classic thirst quencher and vitamin boost.

In this recipe, I added some cayenne pepper for a kick of heat! The heat from the cayenne pepper balances well with the sweetness of the juice. I love the flavor combo!

Outside of the flavor, cayenne pepper is said to be great at helping your body detox. It raises the temperature of your body and can make you sweat. Both of which helps your body’s natural detoxing processes.

There is also research out there that says that consuming cayenne pepper helps to burn more calories and suppress your appetite.

I’ve found that juicing, in general, has been really great for my health. I started off juicing around 7 years ago as a way to get more vitamins and minerals into my life. But I found that juicing did so much more than that. My skin became clearer and brighter. I stopped being anemic. I had more energy and just felt so good.

Kickin Carrot Orange Juice (paleo, GF)

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 large carrots
  • 3 naval oranges, , with the peel removed
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Clean the carrots, and peel the oranges. Juice the carrots and oranges using a juicer.
  • Add cayenne pepper and mix.
  • Makes about 28 ounces of juice.
